The Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (Honours) Programme aims to educate students in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and prepare them for careers in the planning industry as professional planners and entrepreneurial while equipping them with knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities to excel and become leaders in their areas of expertise.

Programme Objectives: Students are expected to;
i.	Gain knowledge in the basic urban and regional planning fundamentals;
ii.	Discuss the primary tools of economic analysis that used in resources and environmental analysis
iii.	Acquire knowledge (theories & processes) in GIS; Utilise ESRI Online ArcGIS Pro software
iv.	Understand the professional practice (Ethics inclusive) and procedures of PLANNERS
v.	Understand Government’s role in the market system. Evaluate, analyse budgeting in the public sector and be able to relate this to public policies and plans. 
vi.	Analyse spatial distribution of citizens, businesses and the public facilities of an urban economy and evaluate economic specialization, regional growth against economic policies and plans 
vii.	Carry out strategic planning; compare between quantitative and qualitative research 
viii.	Evaluative land administration processes in Fiji and the South Pacific
ix.	Understand Fiji’s Planning Laws to be able to apply redress through the courts or administration tribunal and inquires
x.	Evaluate the functions of the Local Government and its legislation.
xi.	Design corridor planning, transportation system and transit planning
xii.	Analyse critical issues determining the application of environment-based strategies through EIA Studies 

To create planning solutions (and products) with socioeconomic impacts that can create wealth to the nation.

A. The minimum entry requirements (MER) for an Urban and Regional Planning Degree are Science or Arts students with successful completion of the Fiji Seventh Form Examination (FSFE) (equivalent to Year 13), with an aggregate of 250 out of 400 obtained from passes in English, Mathematics, and best two subjects.
OR
It’s equivalent.

B. Diploma graduates from Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Surveying with a GPA of 3.0 and above are eligible for admission.

C. Recognition would also be granted to mature applicants who do not meet the 13 years of continuous progression, but who have relevant work experience and prior learning.
