Programme Description
Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (Hons) programme is to educate students in the field of Urban and Regional Planning in order to prepare them for careers in the planning industry, as professional planners, entrepreneurs, and enable them to become leaders in their field of expertise.
The objectives of the programme are to:
i. Provide students with a thorough foundation in the basic urban and regional planning fundamentals;
ii. To give   students an understanding of the basic scientific principles of planning by providing them instructions in analysis, development, design and practical work in various fields of urban and regional planning;
iii. To ensure students acquire the capability for meaningful, result oriented   research in different fields of urban and regional planning;
iv. To acquire advanced knowledge through conduct of basic, applied and adaptive research;
v. To ensure students are capable of addressing issues of ethics, safety, professionalism, cultural diversity, globalization, environmental impact and social and economic impact in planning practice; and
vi. To ensure students are able to create engineering solutions (and  products)  with socioeconomic impacts that can create wealth to the nation.

Minimum Requirement
a) Pass in Year 13 with 250 out of 400 marks with a pass (50% or more) in English, Mathematics, and any 2 subjects OR holders of Trade Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Land Surveying OR Foundation Science with GPA of 3.00 or more.
b) Applicant may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in programmes at these levels on the basis of their maturity, work experience or prior learning and are 21 years of age.
