Unit Name: Planning Research I

Description: On 7th semester students complete a research proposal under the guidance of their corresponding supervisors. This research project involves the application of skills and knowledge attained during the earlier years of their degree program. The students are supposed to identify a research problem and then, to proceed a detailed literature review prior to produce the research project proposal.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, you should be able to: a. Demonstrate the ability to identify a potential research topic (GPIA-1, GPIA-2, GPIA-3) b. Carry out a generalized literature review (GPIA-4, GPIA-6) c. Carry out a schematic literature review on the proposed topic (GPIA-4, GPIA-6) d. Demonstrate the ability to identify the research gap (GPIA-2, GPIA-3, GPIA-4, GPIA-7) e. Carry out a detail problem formulation for a research proposal (GPIA-2, GPIA-3, GPIA-4, GPIA-7) f. Carryout the technical feasibilities and environmental impacts from the proposed research project (GPIA-2, GPIA-3, GPIA-4, GPIA-5, GPIA-7) g. Provide a project proposal in a document (GPIA-2, GPIA-8)
