Unit Name: Probability and Statistic for Planning

Description: To determine a comprehensive introduction to the use of probability models and statistical methods for analyzing data that will be used in Urban and Regional Planning. The course also discusses basic concepts of Statistical Analysis, the role of statistical analysis in planning, descriptive statistical analysis, and statistical inference analysis.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, you should be able to: a. Understand the concept of the descriptive statistic (GPIA-1, GPIA-3) b. Apply the concept of probability (GPIA-1, GPIA-3) c. Differentiate Discrete random variables and probability distribution (GPIA-1, GPIA-3) d. Joint probability distribution and random variables (GPIA-1, GPIA-3, GPIA-6) e. Determine the points estimation (GPIA-1, GPIA-3, GPIA-6, GPIA-7) f. Test of hypotheses based on a single sample and two samples (GPIA-1, GPIA-3, GPIA-6, GPIA-7)
