Unit Name: Budgeting and Finance for Development

Description: This course is an introductory course in government budgeting and finance, dealing with public revenue and expenditure policies, financial management, and politics of the budgetary process. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the theories, concepts, and practice of government budgeting and finance and to expose them to the current issues and challenges in order to support planning and sustainable development program implementation. The students have capacity to make appropriate choices in ethically ambiguous situations based on knowledge of social, economic, environmental, and cultural aspects of planning (CPIA1-05).
