The general aims of this programme is to provide professional knowledge in teaching and learning so that participants develop and expand lesson preparation skills, as well as teaching, training, researching and general administrative competencies. This programme is designed to provide graduates who can successfully develop, implement and evaluate curriculum and become actively involved in new educational initiatives in Fiji primary schools.

a) A pass in the Fiji Year 13 Examination with a total of 220 or more marks in four subjects including 50% pass in English and a pass in Year 12 Mathematics or equivalence with competence in one of the Vernaculars (iTaukei, Urdu, Hindi or Rotuman) up to class/year 8 or equivalent as per the University Academic & Student Regulations (UASR).
b)Applicant may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in programmes at these levels on the basis of their maturity, work experience or prior learning and are 21 years of age.
