Unit Name: Understanding Inclusive Education

Description: Inclusive education in schools is a global phenomenon and is stipulated as process that can have positive consequences for the general school climate and for the right of students with special needs to study in mainstream classroom. This course takes account of the development of inclusive culture, inclusive principles, inclusive practice, inclusive policy and diagnostic assessments to cater the learning needs of the special needs students on the spectrum of different forms of disability in mainstream classroom. Thus, this course will provide the students with knowledge, understanding, application of knowledge, synthesizing knowledge and innovative skills to cater the learning needs of special needs in Fijian primary schools.
