Unit Name: Healthy Living

Description: Being the only health education unit in the Bachelor of Education (Primary) program this unit introduces students to the content of Healthy Living curriculum in primary schools. The unit comprises of six modules. Module 1 focuses on the overview of the unit and introduces students to the role, purpose, issues fundamentals of healthy living. Module 2 focuses on Human growth and development and its application to health. The module introduces students into stages of human growth and development and the body systems. Module 3 covers building healthy relationships. This module focuses on types of relationships and the relationship spectrum. Module 4 introduces students to risk management and Occupational Health and Safety. Module 5 introduces students to personal and community health which covers issues on health, nutrition and health promoting schools and multidimensional approach to health promotion.
