This programme is designed  to equip students with skills; knowledge and confidence in the field of Animal Sciences, and be relevant to the needs of the employers and other stakeholders thereby produce graduates that are  technically competent and research oriented in the animal science field, and to produce graduates that can effectively work in different research centers, universities, colleges, Ministry of Agriculture, relevant ministries and any other non-governmental organizations therefore contribute positively to the development of livestock production.

1.	A pass in Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination (Y13) or equivalent with a pass in English and a minimum aggregate mark of 200 out of 400 including Biology, and/or Agriculture Science and completion of any of the following subjects: Mathematics (including Pure/ Life mathematics), Chemistry/ Geography/ Food & Nutrition Technology/Physics/Computer Science/ Economics/ Introduction to Technology or;

2.	Applicants who have passed (50%) Foundation course with English, Mathematics and Biology or Agriculture Biology and Chemistry are also eligible for admission.

3.	Applicants may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in the respective programmes on the basis of their maturity, work experience, or prior learning. The Dean may require such an applicant to sit for any specific or general examination as a prerequisite for any such enrolment or may restrict enrolment only to certain prescribed courses that must be passed to progress further.
