Unit Name: Farm Machinery, Structure, Surveying & Engineering Drawing

Description: This course is a combination of subject matter and planned learning experiences on Farm Machinery, Structure, Surveying & Engineering Drawing and to provide theoretical and practical understanding on the role of farm machinery in agricultural production, Explaining of different type of farm buildings, the basic principles practices in surveying and engineering drawings. The typical learning activities include the traditional and modern hand tools, animal implant tools and machine implant tools in Fiji, appropriate technology and mechanization. The students will gain a general understanding operating principles of tractors and agricultural machinery. Introduce to the students the construction and maintenance principles of farm buildings such as warehouse, farm processing buildings and farm animal houses, Learning activities use and interpret maps, plans and aerial photos remote sensing techniques, carryout simple field surveying tasks and prepare plans. Theoretical and practical understanding about basic engineering drawings. The students will develop operational and basic maintenance skills for agricultural operations and machinery plus basic workshop skills.
