Unit Name: Industrial Attachment

Description: This course will provide practical experience to the students. The duration of this attachment/training will be for four months (16 weeks). As a result of successfully completing this course, students will be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of competence in livestock production, management, animal nutrition and feed, breeding, animal ethics and welfare, quarantine, fodder production and pasture management, Animal husbandry extension as well as livestock product processing and marketing, management of poultry farms, dairy farms, beef, pig, sheep& goat farms. Preventive measures of diseases in livestock.Livestock marketing and biosecurity.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1.2.1 evaluate livestock production & management of sheep, beef cattle, diary cows, pigs, goats and poultry. 1.2.2 demonstrate livestock feeds, feeding and pasture management. 1.2.3 demonstrate deworming and vaccination as well as AI in animals. 1.2.4 demonstrate disinfection, quarantine during disease out breaks and carryout biosecurity measures. 1.2.5 apply animal husbandry extension support duties.
