Unit Name: Agricultural Statistics

Description: This unit introduces the students to statistics specifically used in the field of agriculture. It deals with data collection, organization, analyzing and interpretation or drawing conclusions from agricultural data. There are two branches of agricultural statistics dealt with in this unit are: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics covers data collection methods, sampling methods, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion or variation and measures of position, while the latter covers the hypothesis testing and design of experiments. The unit also covers some basic computing knowledge and software such as SPSS used to handle agriculture data as technology advances around us.
