Unit Name: Poultry Production

Description: The course provides knowledge and understanding on rearing of different types of poultry species. Topics discussed in the course include; history of domestication of chickens, statistics on poultry production in selected countries and continents of the world, hatchery management, feeding management of different poultry species and animal welfare. Common diseases affecting poultry in Fiji and biosecurity measures to control diseases is reviewed.
