The programme is two years full-time programme. Graduates will be well equipped with comprehensive set of practical skills with competent to work effectively in a farm or in an agricultural industry such as: crop farming, vegetable farming, animal production, growing of horticultural crops, integrated farming systems and also commercial farming. The graduates will also have acquired an education at a level that will equip them for industry employment that will lay the foundations for a lifetime of self-learning and personal development.

a) The Applicant must have passed Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination or equivalent with a minimum of 200 marks with a pass (50 per cent) in Mathematics, English, Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry and any one from the following subjects such as Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry/Food & Nutrition & Technology/Physics/Computer Science/Economics/Introduction to Technology.

b) Applicants with Certificate IV in Agriculture are eligible for admission in second year of the programme. All the unit of Certificate IV in Agriculture except Industrial Attachment will be cross credited with the units of first year of Trade Diploma in Agriculture programme.

c) Applicants may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in the respective programmes on the basis of their maturity, work experience or prior learning.

d) The Dean may require such an applicant to sit for specific or general examination as a pre-requisite for any such enrolment, or may restrict enrolment only to certain prescribed courses that must be passed to progress further.
