| Programme Description |
The purpose of the Bachelor of Medical Imaging Science (BMIS) programme is to educate and train students by integrating academic learning with comprehensive clinical experience, enabling them to become highly qualified and passionate medical imaging technologists. Graduates will demonstrate competence in performing a wide range of professional procedures, utilising critical thinking and independent judgment to apply prescribed ionizing and non-ionizing radiation safely for radiologic diagnosis. They will exhibit ethical and professional behaviour, effective communication, and cultural sensitivity, adhering to safety protocols and legal standards. This programme ensures that graduates are proficient in current best practices and prepared to meet the evolving demands of medical imaging practice with compassion and leadership.

| Minimum Requirement |
Applicants should normally provide evidence of the following:
1. A pass in the Year 13 Examination or equivalent with a minimum aggregate mark of 300 out of 400, including a required pass in English, Physics, Biology and one other subject from Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Studies OR
2. A pass in Full Foundation Science Programme, or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 out of 4.5 or 3.33 out of 5.0, including a required pass in English, Physics, Biology and one other subject from Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer OR
3. A pass in the Certificate in Health Professions Foundation programme, or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 out of 4.5 or 3.33 out of 5.0, including a required pass in English, Physics, Biology and one other subject from Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Studies OR
4. A completed higher education undergraduate science degree programme at a recognised higher education institution with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 out of 4.5 or 3.33 out of 5.0 or minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75%.
5. Regional and international applicants will need Year 12 and 13 results assessed by the Pacific Community (SPC)’s Educational Quality and Assessment Programme (EQAP).
6. English Language Proficiency Requirements for regional and international applicants include an IELTS or its equivalent with academic score of 6.5 with no band score less than 6.5.
7. Applicants who may not meet the requirement of continuous education progression but can demonstrate their ability to succeed in the programme based on their maturity, work experience, or prior learning, including those who hold a Certificate or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from CMNHS/FSM or an equivalent institution and have graduated before 2017. The Dean may require such applicants to sit for specific examinations or complete certain prescribed courses as prerequisites for enrolment.
8. Admission is based on merit until the required student numbers for the programme are met. If the programme quota is not met, the entry mark requirement may be reduced to 280 out of 400, and an equivalent GPA reduction will be applied for foundation science students.
