Unit Name: Radiographic Positioning and Procedures of the Head, Spine and Abdomen

Description: This course builds on foundational imaging skills, focusing on radiographic procedures for the head, spine, and abdomen. Students will analyze imaging requests, perform radiographic exams, and apply safety protocols in clinical environments. Emphasis is placed on evaluating image quality and demonstrating effective communication and ethical conduct. Assessments include written exams and practical evaluations to ensure readiness for advanced radiographic practices.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Explain terminologies used in the radiography of the head, spine and abdomen. 2. Assess radiological request forms and determine appropriate sequences of projections for specific regions. 3. Perform laboratory-based radiographic examinations of the head, spine, and abdomen competently. 4. Select suitable imaging procedures based on patients\' conditions. 5. Apply radiation and occupational health and safety principles in general imaging practices. 6. Demonstrate effective interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills in medical imaging practice. 7. Evaluate diagnostic images of the head, spine, and abdomen for quality and accuracy. 8. Apply the professional code of conduct and ethics in medical imaging practice
