Programme Description
The Certificate IV in Biomedical Engineering programme is offered in 4 quarters.
Each quarter comprises of 8 weeks. Each quarter consists of 6 courses. Each course consists of 5 credit point. The main purpose of this programme is to prepare students for employment in Certificate IV level occupations specializing in trade level biomedical engineering work in hospitals or biomedical engineering technology industries. The programme is directed towards occupations with typical job titles such as Biomedical trade’s person.

The general characteristics of the programme are as outlined in  The University Academic & Student Regulation of the Fiji National University and, more specifically, the programme aims to provide a broad-based, initial vocational programme for the technical workforce, specializing in Biomedical Engineering technology.

Minimum Requirement
a) Completion of Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination or Fiji Year 12 Annual Exam/Assessment with a pass in English or 12 years of education with continuous progression, or equivalent or Completion of Certificate III programme.

b) Applicant may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in programmes at these levels on the basis of their maturity, work experience or prior learning and are 17 years of age.
