Unit Name: Introduction to Bioinformatics

Description: This is an interdisciplinary field which this unit provides so that students make effective use of biomedical data and information for scientific inquiry, problem solving, and decision making to improve human health. It also provides an introduction to biomedical informatics. A variety of data and text mining techniques are introduced and applied to study practical problems in biological sciences, clinical medicine and public health. The unit introduces also the students to data and computer communication technology.
