Unit Name: Introduction to Communication Literacy

Description: The purpose of this Course is to develop skills in written and oral communication and in the retrieval and interpretation of information.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to do the following: 1. Learn effective listening, reading skills and study techniques. 2. Use library research techniques and retrieves industry data from a technical library in both copied and notation forms. 3. Learn how to deliver effective speeches and participates in group discussions. 4. Write clearly and accurately using current communication techniques of the industry. 5. Use a word-processing, data sheets packages etc. to prepare technical documentation. 6. Use computers for communication.
