The main purpose of this programme is to prepare students for employment in Certificate IV level occupations specializing in electrical engineering practices. The programme is directed towards occupations with typical job titles such as a technical officer or trade person. 

The general characteristics of the programme areas outlined in The University Academic, Student Regulation of the Fiji National University and, more specifically, the programme aims to provide a broad-based, initial vocational programme for the technical workforce, specializing in electrical engineering.

1. Successful completion of Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination with a pass in English plus the best three (3) other subjects; OR
2. Graduated with Certificate III in Electrical Engineering, OR
3. Evidence of at least two years of relevant electrical industrial experience (RPL) for mature age applicants who are at least 21 years of age and over shall be considered.
