Programme Description | Certificate in Community Nutrition (Level 4) is designed to train students who are intending to pursue a career in food, nutrition and health related field at community setting. The programme incorporates an entrepreneurial approach to community nutrition services and will enhance students’ knowledge and skills in approaches that will improve the public’s nutrition and health status. The programme also acts as a nutrition advocacy tool to strengthen capacities of professionals to work in a complex, dynamic and rapidly changing food and nutrition environment. In its design the new programme also recognizes the importance of working towards the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs recognizes the achievement of a better and more sustainable future and emphasizes a holistic approach to achieving sustainable development for all. In its implementation, the programme will strengthen related activities to the achievement of SDGs 1, 2 and 3 which looks at reducing poverty and hunger and promoting good health and wellbeing. |

Minimum Requirement | 1. A pass in Year 12 Examination or equivalent with a minimum aggregate mark of 200 out of 400 in English, Biology, Chemistry and one other science subject OR equivalent as below: (Refer to UASR Pg21 - 4.8.6.3) 2. Entry via recognition of prior learning may be awarded to applicants who have demonstrated ability to undertake similar level programs or who is deemed to have acquired the relevant skills and knowledge through appropriate levels of work or professional experience, OR 3. Regional and international applicant’s qualifications will be assessed by the Pacific Community (SPC)’s Educational Quality and Assessment Program. |
