Unit Name: Community Nutrition Intervention

Description: The course will explore the need and practise that are of sole importance to a community nutrition health worker. Students will need to understand the type of community they are working with, identify their nutritional and health needs and carry out programs that meets the needs of this community. The course will be facilitated on a practicum mode of delivery in which selected sites will be identified and students will identify baseline information of the community and carry out programs that meets their need.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Collect community baseline information to identify nutrition problems. 2. Identify problems and set objectives with the community. 3. Plan and develop community programs. 4. Prepare nutrition communication materials to address the problems. 5. Implement community nutrition awareness program at the setting. 6. Evaluate the nutrition education program for effectiveness.
