Programme Description | The programme is two years full-time programme. The graduates will be equipped with technical expertise and skills in the area of agroforestry systems and land use, rural development and livelihoods, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, forest protection, nursery management, non-timber forest products and value adding, agroforestry business and entrepreneurship. The graduates will acquire an education at a level that will equip them for employment, self-employment and lay the foundations for a lifetime of continuous learning and personal development |

Minimum Requirement | a) The Applicant must have passed Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination or equivalent with a minimum of 200 marks with a pass (50 percent) in Mathematics, English, Biology/Agriculture/ Chemistry and any one from the following subjects such as Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry/Food and Nutrition & Technology/Physics/Computer Science/Economics/Introduction to Technology. b) Applicants with a Certificate IV in Agroforestry are eligible for admission in first trimester of second year of the programme. All the units of Certificate IV in Agroforestry except Educational Tour and Industrial Attachment will be cross credited with the units of first year Trade Diploma in Agroforestry programme. c) Applicants who have passed Advanced Certificate in Wood Craft Technology or Advanced Certificate in Forest Management are also eligible for admission. d) Applicants may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in the respective programmes on the basis of their maturity, work experience or prior learning. The Dean may require such an applicant to sit for any specific or general examination as a prerequisite for any such enrolment or may restrict enrolment only to certain prescribed courses that must be passed to progress further. |
