Unit Name: Agroforestry Industrial Attachment

Description: This course will provide practical experience to the students. The duration of this attachment/training will be for six months. As a result of successfully completing this unit students will be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of competence in Forestry Techniques, Operating Equipment in Sawmills, Plantation operation, Management operations, Silvicultural based Techniques, making Harvesting plans for logging, Harvesting plans for management and roading, working in Processing and Preservation, Forestry Resource Management and Forest Management for forest reserves and park and amenities.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: Summer Year 1: the student must be enrolled in the programme and have passed at least 50% of prescribed units up to first ester of Trade Diploma in Agroforestry programme. Summer Year 2: The student must have passed in total at least 50% of prescribed units of ester 1& 2 of year 1 and ester 1 of year 2 of Trade Diploma in Agroforestry programme.
