Description: The course covers introduction to dendrology, distinguish between tree, shrub, herb, tree nomenclature, merits and demerits of common names and scientific names, categories of plant kingdom, artificial and natural classification, distinguish between gymnosperms and angiosperms, collection of botanical specimens, distribution of trees, ecology definition, autecology, animal & plant ecology, climate adaptation; classification based on water relation, hydrophyte, xerophytes, tropophyte, environment, herbarium introduction and methods, forest trees identification technique, forest species in Fiji and native forest species in Fiji.
