The study aims to assess patient outcomes following emergency laparotomies and to identify the factors contributing to these outcomes in the Solomon Islands. The research also highlights that early detection, timely referral, prompt surgical intervention, and establishing a high-dependency care unit in the surgical ward can significantly improve the outcomes of emergency laparotomies in the Solomon Islands.
