Programme Description
Certificate in Dental Assisting  (Level 4) is a 1-year full time or 2 years’ part time certificate programme with 120 credit points. Students enrolled into the Dental Assisting programme will receive dental education and training through a blended mode, online and face to face clinical learning and teaching. The programme provides students with knowledge and skills relating to dental chair side assisting and office administration. It will prepare students to assist and be part of the dental team in clinics and community outreach initiatives. Upon completion of the programme students will graduate with a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting.

Minimum Requirement
1.	Pass in Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination or equivalent with an aggregate of 250/400 with a 50% in English and best three subjects from Math and any science subjects; OR
2.	Pass in Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination or equivalent with an aggregate of 200/400 with more than 2 years of relevant work experience.
3.	Entry via recognition of prior learning may be awarded to applicants who have demonstrated ability to undertake similar level programs or who is deemed to have acquired the relevant skills and knowledge through relevant work experience of at least 3 years.
4.	Regional and international applicants will need qualifications assessed by the Pacific Community (SPC)’s Educational Quality and Assessment Programme.
