Programme Description
The aim is to enable applicants to gain advanced knowledge, experience, skills, attitudes, appropriate dispositions and values for further education and professional work in education or training.
The PGDEd offerings are stair-cased to prepare the candidates for the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd – Full thesis, the Supervised Research Project (SRP) and the Master of Education (MEd - Course Work). The Master of Education degree consists of the following three programme options:
1. Students are required to write a full thesis in 50,000 words (MAEd)
2. Students are required to complete two 900-level Education courses in addition to the four 800-level Education courses they attained in their PGDEd and write a Supervised Research Project (SRP) in about 20,000 words.
3. Students are required to complete four additional 900-level Education courses in addition to the four 800 Education courses attained in their PGDEd. This MEd is by Coursework. The 900 level education courses to be selected for option 2 above which is the M.Ed. (SRP) and option three which is the M.Ed. coursework are listed below. The Credit point for SRP (EDU919) is 60 and for full thesis (EDU913) is 120.

Minimum Requirement
"•	obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at FNU or at another recognized university normally with a GPA of 3.0 or
•	obtained a qualification at a tertiary institution deemed by the FNU Senate or its delegate to be equivalent to the requirements set out in (a) above; or
•	obtained a professional qualification deemed by the FNU Senate to be equivalent to the requirements set out in (a) above; or
•	Bridging for those not meeting the GPA - offer the research unit (at the 800 level) or another 900 level unit as deemed appropriate by the FNU senate or its delegates."
