Paper Cut Guideline

Library Self-Managed Printing Solution (PaperCut) Guidelines

 A. PRINTING

1.0. You are requested to check the validity of your FNU ID card in order to use the PaperCut services. If the ID card is not valid, you are requested to refer to Academic Office.

2.0. You must also ensure to have computer login credentials in order to successfully use the PaperCut service.

3.0. If you do not have your computer username and password, you need to refer to the ICT helpdesk for assistance.

4.0. You can top-up your account at the ‘Library Circulation Counter’.

5.0. After you have topped up your account, you can log into a networked computer to print.

6.0. You must ensure to check/select the following (before printing):

  1. Check/select black&white or colour printing.
  2. FOR PPT’s ONLY: check/select the slides shall be printed i.e. 4/6 slides per page or more.
  3. Check/select if you need to print both sides or one side.
  4. Check the number of copies to print.

7.0. You must ensure that the print item is up to your standard and requirement before printing.

8.0. You shall then send your print to ‘Follow Me Print’.

9.0. After you have clicked on print from your computer, locate the printer in the library.

10.0. You shall enter your computer login username and password to login into the printing machine and select ‘release’ to view all/any documents sent for printing.

11.0. If you wish not to print all the documents, then select the documents which you want to print and click ‘print’.

12.0. If you want to print all the documents, then select ‘print all’ option.

13.0. You can also print from any other FNU networked computer and follow the instructions no. 5.0-7.0 (printing guidelines).

14.0. After you have selected print from any other networked computer within FNU, you may visit any FNU library, locate the printing machine and follow the instructions no. 9.0-11.0 (printing guidelines).

15.0. You may refer to the ‘library staff’ for any assistance if needed.

 

B. PHOTOCOPYING

1.0. You are requested to check the validity of your FNU ID card in order to use the PaperCut services. If the ID card is not valid, you are requested to refer to Academic Office.

2.0. You must also ensure to have computer login credentials in order to successfully use the PaperCut service.

3.0. If you do not have your computer username and password, you need to refer to the ICT helpdesk for assistance.

4.0. You can top-up your account at the ‘Library Circulation Counter’.

5.0. You shall locate the printing machine in the library and login using your computer username and password.

6.0. After you have logged in, select the ‘device functions’ on the screen.

7.0. You must ensure to remove stapler pins before photocopying.

8.0. You may place the photocopying item on the glass tray or the feeder then select the number of copies you want.

9.0. Then select ‘start’ on the machine to complete photocopying.

10.0. You may refer to the ‘library staff’ for any assistance if needed.

 

C. SCANNING

1.0. You are requested to check the validity of your FNU ID card in order to use the PaperCut service. If the ID card is not valid, you are requested to refer to the Academic Office.

2.0. You must also ensure to have PC login credentials in order to successfully use the paper cut service.

3.0. If you do not have your username and password, you need to refer to the ICT helpdesk for assistance.

4.0. You can top up your account at the Library Circulation Desk.

5.0. You shall locate the printing machine in the library and login using your computer username and password.

6.0. After you have logged in, select ‘scan’ on the screen.

7.0. You must ensure to remove the stapler pins before scanning.

8.0. You may place the item on glass tray if have one item for scanning or place on feeder if have multiple items for scanning.

9.0. After you have placed the item for scanning, insert the USB/pen drive to save.

10.0. A pop-up will appear on the screen, select the option ‘scan to external device’ and press ‘start’.

11.0. You need to wait for scanning to be completed before removing your USB/pen drive.

12.0. You may refer to the ‘library staff’ for any assistance if needed
