Description: Maternal and neonatal mortality is a major global challenge as many lives are lost during pregnancy and after delivery, with higher rates occurring in low and middle income countries, of which Kiribati is without an exception. The country is faced with a higher risk of consequences and even death resulting from pregnancy related issues. This study aimed to explore the experiences and behaviors of pregnant women, delivered women and family members in seeking and receiving healthcare during pregnancy, during delivery and postnatal period and to explore the experiences of health workers on providing maternal and neonatal care.
