Programme Description
The Post Graduate Diploma in Food Science and Technology aims to provide a pathway to undertaking an MSc in Food Science and Technology. It enables students to have in-depth knowledge and skills in addressing challenges associated with food processing, food safety, food quality and health. Students are expected to develop foods based on gastronomic know-how and consumer knowledge. Students can also maintain up-to-date knowledge of international food regulations and quality assurance of the food industry. The programme may also enable its graduates to enter a career in the local and international food industry as scientists and/or technologists, capable of ensuring the production, processing and marketing of safe and quality foods. With the knowledge and skills they gain, they may also be able to enter into employment in other sectors of the food chain, food security or related scientific industries where they can apply their scientific skills.

Minimum Requirement
The minimum entry requirement for Postgraduate Diploma is a GPA average of 3 or grade B and above in BSc or equivalent. Those candidates who do not meet the minimum grade point average requirement must have served in relevant areas (teaching, research, industry) for at least TWO years for sufficient knowledge and experience to undertake this programme.
