Unit Name: Advanced Food Packaging Technology

Description: At an advanced level, this course will provide a suitable platform for students to explore novel food packaging techniques innovation and entrepreneurship in food packaging and packaging design. Identification of various food packaging materials appropriate to be used in environmental sensitive countries such as in the South Pacific region (Fiji Islands and elsewhere) is of paramount importance. The main focus of this course is to expose students for a \'hands-on\' experience on designing food package materials to meet the demands of local industries, government and consumers. In addition, students will get acquainted with various advanced cognitive skills and durability, tamper proofing, transportation and the environment.
