The programme is a three years full time programme, The graduates will be equipped with technical expertise and research skills in the area of forest management, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, forest health and protection, agroforestry and land use, harvesting operations, non-timber forest products and value adding, forest business and entrepreneurship. The graduates will acquire an education at a level that will equip them for employment, self employment and lay the foundations for a lifetime of continuous learning and personal development.

a) Applicant must have passed Year 13 Certificate Examination or equivalent with a minimum of 200 marks in English, Math, one science subject (Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry/Home Economics/Physics/Computer Studies/Applied Technology/Technical Drawing) and any other from the given subjects (Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Home Economics, Physics, Computer Studies, Applied Technology, Technical Drawing, Geography, Economics, Accounting, History).

b) Completion of Foundation Science with GPA of 3.00 or more and applicants who have passed Foundation Course with English, Mathematics, and Biology or Agriculture (Trade Diploma in Agriculture Unit) or Forest Biology (Trade Diploma in Forestry Unit) unit/ Chemistry are also eligible for admission.

c) Graduates with Trade Diploma in Forestry qualification will be directly admitted in second year of the programme.

d) Applicants with qualification of Trade Diploma in Forestry/ Trade Diploma in Agroforestry/Diploma in Tropical Forestry/ Trade Diploma in Wood processing and Value Adding/ Trade Diploma in Animal Husbandry/ Trade Diploma in Applied Fisheries/ Trade Diploma in Aquaculture/ Trade Diploma in Agricultural Engineering are also eligible for admission.

e) Applicants with Diploma in Tropical Forestry are also eligible to apply for admission.

f) Applicants may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement above, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in the programmes at this Level on the basis of maturity, work experience, or prior learning. The Dean may place any relevant prerequisite requirement for such a student to progress, or require such an applicant to sit for any specific or general examination as a prerequisite for any such enrolment, or may restrict enrolment only to certain prescribed courses that must be passed to progress further.
