Programme Description | The Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) is a two-year programme on a full-time mode and four years part-time mode. It is comprised of 120 credit points at level 8 in year 1 and 120 credit points at level 9 in year 2. This programme would prepare Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to the specialisation framework to advanced nursing practice that enables the graduates to practice in community health care settings as primary care level practitioners and create a pathway to the currently practicing Nurse Practitioner’s to bridge into Masters. The course learning outcomes in this programme is also aligned with the SDG’s. This new programme will integrate nursing and related sciences into the delivery of specialty nursing care. There are 2 streams: 1. the new entry will commence in year one (1) for the duration of two (2) years. 2. the lateral entry students will commence in year two (2) for a duration of one (1) year. |

Minimum Requirement | 1. Bachelor of Nursing with GPA of 3.0, and minimum of 5 years of experience. 2. Applicants who do not have Bachelor of Nursing but have completed a diploma of nursing or associate degree in nursing are able to demonstrate ability to succeed based on maturity, work experience, or prior learning may apply specifically. 3. Applicants must be registered with the Fiji Nursing Council (FNC). 4. Regional students must obtain a temporary license with the Fiji Nursing Council prior to the commencement of the programme. Lateral Entry 1. Applicants who have a postgraduate diploma in nurse practitioner. 2. Applicants who have advanced diploma in nurse practitioner and who are able to demonstrate ability to succeed based on maturity, work experience, or prior learning may apply specifically. |
