Unit Name: Quality and Safety in Nurse Practitioner Practice

Description: This course builds on the knowledge and skills of students in relation to quality and risk management and applies these in the context of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. In this unit of study, students will explore ways in which government and professional bodies provide information that supports decision-making and defines scope of practice. Additionally, students will be encouraged to expand their clinical and theoretical repertoire by developing an evidence-based argument for, and a written report on assessing professional standards and competencies.
