Programme Description
The Postgraduate Diploma qualification is designed to meet knowledge and skills required by professions in the field of teaching, higher education institutions, technical vocational education providers, and corporate organisations. It equips students with both practical and theoretical knowledge and skills, underlying the subfields of linguistics, language development, language acquisition and learning.  To this purpose, PGD in Linguistics comprises specifically designed courses in linguistics, language acquisition and learning, as well as exposing and preparing students to explore and select certain research methods they could use in linguistic analysis, corpora, discourse or text analysis. The postgraduate diploma is a pathway to pursuing a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, which further leads to a Doctorate Degree in Linguistics.
Minimum Requirement
The minimum entry requirement for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Linguistics shall be the completion, with a minimum GPA of 3.0+ or equivalent in Bachelor’s Degree in Language & Literature, Bachelor in Media & Journalism, Bachelor in Secondary Education with Language majors. Mature students or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) would be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
