Programme Name Master of Public Health in Non - Communicable Diseases (Quota Based)
Programme Description
The Master of Public Health in Non – Communicable Diseases programme prepares graduates, who are health professionals or work in the NCD areas, to become a well-rounded NCD research practitioner with acquired updated knowledge and information to develop NCD research proposals and conduct various research activities using sound ethical practices with new skills and proficiencies the NCD clinical and public health settings. 
This programme has been on offer since 2016 and was internally reviewed in 2019, externally reviewed in November 2021. The recommendations from the external review have been in-cooperated into this revised programme. The MPHNCD coursework has 3 900 level courses 120 credits and to be completed in 1 year for full time students and within 2 years part time students
Graduates will also be able to design NCD research study, explain biostatistical concepts, describe qualitative and quantitative research methodologies conduct studies, analyse their data, write up and defend their thesis. They would also be able to publish their research work.
The programme guideline is compiled in conjunction with the FNU Academic and Students Regulations with the endorsement of the Fiji Higher Education Commission. This amended programme will be offered from 2023.
Majors Non-Communicable Diseases
Minimum Requirement
1.	Postgraduate Diploma in NCD with 65% pass OR
2.	Students who do not meet the 65% requirement mark in 1) may request for an entrance exam and their mark must score 65% or more.
3.	A minimum of three - five years’ work experience in the health sector or in the area of NCD (demonstrated on their curriculum vitae) with a written and positive reference from a supervisor. All other conditions in the UASR Page 29, 6.11.2 also apply OR
4.	Those with an undergraduate degree not related to health, or with less than five years work experience but strong references, will be considered. 
5. All admissions into the MPHNCD programme must be endorsed by the HOD before it can be approved by the HOS of the SPHPC, CMNH
