Do I need a visa to enter Fiji?

Citizens of over 100 countries (including the US, Australia, NZ, and many Indo-Pacific nations) are visa-exempt and receive a visitor permit on arrival. Check the Fiji Immigration Portal for the latest list.

What are the current health and COVID-19 requirements?

As of 2026, Fiji has removed mandatory COVID-19 vaccination and insurance requirements, but we recommend international travel insurance for peace of mind.

How do I get from Nadi International Airport to the venue?

The FNU Namaka Campus is only a 5–10 minute drive from the airport. Taxis are readily available at the arrivals entrance, and most recommended hotels offer airport shuttles.

Where exactly is the conference being held?

All main sessions will be at Fiji National University’s Bonunaqwele Namaka Campus in Nadi.

Is there Wi-Fi available at the venue?

Yes, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi will be provided for all registered delegates throughout the campus.

Is the venue accessible for people with disabilities?

Yes, the FNU Namaka Campus is equipped with ramps and accessible facilities. Please notify the secretariat during registration if you require specific assistance.

When is the deadline for abstract submissions?

The deadline for abstracts is January 16th, 2026.

What is the dress code for the conference?

The standard is Business Casual or Bula Wear (islands-style professional). For the Conference Dinner on July 9th, formal Bula attire is encouraged!

Are field trips included in the program?

Yes, we have scheduled site visits to local Landcare projects and sustainable farms. Details on how to sign up will be sent to registered delegates in May.

What is the weather like in Nadi in July?

July is the “cool” dry season in Fiji. Expect pleasant temperatures between 19°C and 28°C. It is the best time of year to visit!

What is the currency and can I use my credit card?

The currency is the Fijian Dollar (FJD). Major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) are widely accepted in hotels and Namaka shops, but carrying some cash for local markets is recommended.

Any cultural tips for visiting local communities?

When visiting a village, it is respectful to dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees) and remove your hat. If you are part of an official delegation, a small sevusevu (gift of kava) is often presented.
