In efforts to further awareness on its programmes, study pathways and application processes, the Fiji National University (FNU) launches its second annual Career Teachers’ Workshop today.

The University is set to host its series of workshops from 15-28 March, 2024 at its central, western and northern campuses, catering to secondary school career teachers from around the country.

FNU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba said the workshop is the University’s initiative aimed at empowering career teachers of study pathways to FNU.

“This workshop is a very valuable initiative designed to empower secondary school career teachers with the latest information and resources about FNU’s programmes, application processes, and student support services,” said Professor Nabobo- Baba.

“The teachers act as the bridges between the students and the Fiji National University, and thus we need to equip them with the best knowledge about the University and its programmes and services.”

“This workshop series travels to different FNU campuses and includes a cluster of schools in the maritime areas, ensuring accessibility for teachers across Fiji.”

The workshops will feature study pathways, programme requirements, FNU support services’ presentations from the College of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (CAFF), College of Business, Hospitality, and Tourism Studies (CBHTS), the College of Engineering and Technical Vocational Education and Training (CETVET), the College of Humanities and Education (CHE), the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences (CMNHS), the Fiji Maritime Academy (FMA), and the National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC).

FNU will start the 2024 Careers Teachers’ Workshop on 15 March 2024 at the Ba Campus, followed by the Namaka Campus in Nadi on 18 March, 2024 for the western Division. Career teachers in the central and eastern divisions can attend the session at the Nasinu Campus on 22 March, 2024, followed by the final lap at the Naduna Campus in Labasa on 26 March, 2024.

This initiative is aligned to the FNU’s Strategic Plan 2024 – 2026 under Priority Area 2 on Educational Excellence and Students Affirming Experiences in TVET and Higher Education.
