The College provides training in a wide range of health disciplines, including medicine, nursing, dentistry, dietetics and nutrition, public health, medical imaging science and medical laboratory science.

According to Acting Dean CMNHS Dr Odille Chang, FNU’s CMNHS has developed into the premier medical institute of the South Pacific and continues to strive towards excellence in the training and education of health professionals who are now serving in key positions in the Pacific region and also internationally.

“With 136 years’ experience in training health professionals, the College ensures that its graduates receive a holistic learning experience to become competent, knowledgeable, and compassionate service providers in their community,” she said.

Dr Chang highlighted that the College has achieved several major milestones to ensure it remains up to date with current health education and research demands and standards.

“Some of the achievements include the World Health Organisation designating the College’s Fiji Institute of Pacific Health Research (FIPHR) as a WHO Collaborating Centre, the inaugural virtual Pacific Islands Health Research Symposium to further enhance the research activities, the Department of Medical Imaging & Anatomy declared as a Centre of Education by the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology – making CMNHS the regional hub for the training of multidisciplinary users of ultrasound.”

Dr Chang added that these accomplishments and the College’s extensive experience in training the region’s health workforce makes it an ideal education provider for those considering a career path as a health professional.
