The National Convention on Quality (NCQ) is an annual event organised by the National Training & Productivity Centre (NTPC) with the purpose of celebrating, sharing, benchmarking and recognising outstanding quality circles across Fiji. Quality Circles (QC) has been promoted in the country since Fiji became a member of the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) in 1984. Fiji National Training Council (FNTC) which later became the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji (TPAF) and now renamed as the National Training & Productivity Centre (NTPC) was designated as the National Productivity Organisation (NPO) for Fiji and undertook the role of promoting productivity and quality in the country. Since 1984 or some 32 years later, productivity promotion through QC have come a long way and assisted many private, public and service sector organisations including NGOs lay the foundation for quality and productivity improvements.

The aim for the National Convention on Quality is to promote productivity and quality in the Nation with the purpose of celebrating, sharing success stories, benchmarking and recognising outstanding quality circles and productivity practitioners for their efforts and contribution towards national prosperity.
The NCQ is a display of the ability of our workforce to apply creativity and innovativeness to enhance productivity and competitiveness in their organisations. This National Convention also brings together selected award winning circles to this annual event and is eagerly anticipated by all in the country. Today, we have more than 200 circles in 85 organisations around the country.
The NCQ for the past 22 years has been the premiere event in promoting productivity and quality in the Nation. NCQ showcases QC projects on energy savings activities, good housekeeping practices, customer service initiatives and process improvement strategies which enhances the quality and productivity of the organisation through focused team work activities.
