Unit Name: Fundamentals of Ethical Practices

Description: This is a mandatory unit for students studying for a certificate programme. This course is an introduction to many stimulating and interesting ideas, relevant to life decisions. It also enhances the capacity for critical judgment and practical decision-making in a variety of personal, workplace and applied contexts.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, you should be able to: 1. Identify and articulate ethical concerns regarding matters of right and wrong, in everyday situations and provide examples of ethical challenges they encounter in their everyday lives. 2. Enhance understanding of the systems of moral reasoning that helps improve ethical decision making and moral behaviour and awareness and critically examine the importance of law, governance , morality and religion. 3. Evaluate and apply theories to issues and controversies in selected area of study such as trade, teaching , agriculture etc. 4. Appreciate the development of ethical standards in an organization and being able to judge the responsibility of a business to the general public and society.
