Description: The unit covers introduction to animal kingdom and its various classes with emphasis on vertebrate animals; classification of animals on the basis of economic importance; domestication of animals; livestock and its economic importance, ruminant, non-ruminant; omnivores and herbivores and other mammal species; bird; reptile; animal instinct and learning; climate change and adaptation of animal; animal in society; livestock improvement; poultry husbandry and its importance; wild animals, companion animals.
