Programme Description | Upon completion of the programme the candidates are equipped with advanced knowledge of computer science and gain the foundation to conduct independent original research. The graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science programme will be able to: •Gain a postgraduate-level qualification for scientific research, critical thinking, brainstorming and analysis in industries. •Address the needs of the local and regional academics and industries. •Conduct action research for innovation, creation of new knowledge and consultancy work in Government. •Design and develop appropriate projects and write suitable project proposals and carry out consultation work in private sector and donor agencies. •Acquire generic skills (teamwork, punctuality, meeting deadlines, communication, etc.) •Demonstrate intellectual independence, critical thinking, and analytic rigour. •Carry out data-dependent research work in the areas of urgency both locally and regionally. •Demonstrate communication and collaborative skills. |

Minimum Requirement | The minimum entry requirement for the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science programme is a BSc (CS/IS), BIS, BCOM(IS), BEd (IS) with a grade point average of at least 3/5 (grade B or above). Those candidates who do not meet the minimum grade point average requirement must have served in relevant areas (teaching, research, industry) for at least TWO years and should demonstrate sufficient knowledge and aptitude to undertake higher studies. |
