Programme Description

This module specifies the competency required to understand different types of bamboo their purpose and types of treatment that can be used to keep bamboo product safe to use and can also be long lasting. The underpinning knowledge will supplement the participants understanding with the use of various species of bamboo locally available. Some of the bamboo species has the advantage of durability and some has to smart look finish. This module will incorporate the uses of bamboo for different products that can be made from bamboo and the treatment method that will preserve bamboo product.   

Course Learnings

Prepare work area for bamboo treatment,   
Identify tools used to work with bamboo    
Identify the types of bamboo and their use,   
Identify and carry out bamboo treatment applicable in Fiji,    
Apply clean up to workplace and work area,
