Programme Description |
Social Policy presents a diverse field of study. It allows the analysis and examination of political/development ideologies that inform the formation and implementation of policy across a broad range of fields. These include public health, housing, social security and social protection, child protection, ageing and care for the elderly and people with disabilities. Additionally it addresses other issues of social concern such as, youth, race and diversity, social exclusion, family, crime and deviance and, more recently, issues underscored by human rights. |
Minimum Requirement |
For SOP801 and SOP802: B average in any undergraduate degree
For SOP803 and SOP804: A pass in SOP801/SOP802
Those candidates who do not meet the minimum grade point average requirement must have served in relevant areas (teaching, research, industry) for at least TWO years and would have gained sufficient knowledge and developed aptitude to undertake higher studies.
