Communities of Practice

Communities of Practice (CoP) are groups of practitioners who “share a passion for something they know how to do and who interact regularly to learn how to do it better” (Wenger, 2015). The Centre for Learning & Teaching Enhancement (CLTE) supports the establishment of cross-discipline teaching and learning focussed CoP, which aims to promote the development of good teaching and learning practices across disciplines and college boundaries. Whether you are a new faculty member looking to learn teaching tips, or an experienced faculty member seeking new insights, CoP are an interesting way to connect with other teachers and gain new perspectives about your current practice.

If you are interested in establishing a CoP for your discipline or interest group related to teaching and learning at FNU, please contact Associate Dean – Learning & Teaching Enhancement at adlte@fnu.ac.fj

The following CoP currently operate:

1. Wisdom Community of Pasifika Teachers
Wisdom Community of Pasifika Teachers (WCPT) is a growing network of teachers of all levels from the wider Pacific region, with a common goal and the will to recalibrate Pacific education to optimise students’ learning outcomes and empower our generations for global competency and well-being. Reflecting the communal lifestyle of the Pacific, WCPT members work together, share and collaborate to solve problems, and conduct research to raise the quality of learning throughout the Pacific. 2. TELCOP
This platform is hosted by FNU and developed in collaboration with the Community Of Learning to provide a platform to connect, collaborate, create and celebrate the implementation of Technology Enabled Learning in participating institutions.
