This programme is a two-week pre-semester course designed specifically for DFAT – sponsored students newly arrived at Fiji National University. It aims to facilitate adjustment to everyday life in Fiji, Fijian academic culture, and student life at each campus; to develop students’ English language and academic skills for the successful completion of their chosen degrees; to diagnose areas of difficulty and recommend ongoing strategies to assist with these.

IAP is in blended mode, comprising both face-to-face and online components. Face-to-face segment includes workshops on how to use Moodle, Mendeley, library services, problem-based learning, and presentation skills. This will eventuate upon regional students’ arrival on campus. Online segment of IAP is a course in Moodle that students will do at their own pace to be completed in 2 weeks’ time once they are enrolled in FNU.
