3The Fiji National University Alumni Association has strengthened its partnership with the Fiji Nurses Association (FNA). FNU Alumni Association President Mr Netani Sukanaivalu believes the strengthening of these bonds will bring forward a wealth of knowledge and experience that will further strengthen the University’s foundation as it continues to grow and develop towards excellence in education.

Mr Sukanaivalu said a stronger network will not only enhance mutual benefits but assist in the development of quality leaders. The FNU Alumni Association demonstrated this commitment when it recently made a financial contribution towards the Fiji Nursing Association’s 59th Annual General Meeting held at Shangri-la’s Fijian Resort and Spa.

The cheque was presented by Ms Silina Waqa Ledua to the President of FNA, Mr Kavekini Neidiri at the official ceremony. Ms Ledua is an executive member of the FNU Alumni Association and was also recognised during the inaugural This arrangement marked the beginning of a new partnership with the nursing fraternity that is essential in the success of the association. Mr Sukanaivalu expressed appreciation for the continued support from the Chancellor and Director Planning & Development of the Fiji National University in helping the association reach new milestones.
The association has more professional development opportunities planned for alumni engagement and benefit in the near future. The Alumni executive committee has also planned a tour of all FNU campuses over the next six weeks to meet and discuss future plans with its members.
