Prathna Vikash
Attaining skills and qualifications that enhance one’s productivity and employment was a goal that Prathna Vikash identified and achieved at the Fiji National University (FNU).
The 23-year-old is currently employed as a Food and Beverage, Food Safety Coordinator at the Holiday Inn hotel in Suva.
“A personal target I had set for myself is to undertake studies and receive formal qualifications from an institution,” Vikash said.
“After research, I found out about a short course at FNU’s National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) and took advantage of upskilling myself.”
“I took the opportunity and successfully completed the Certificate of Attainment in Basic Food Safety course.”
Vikash said she was grateful for the flexibility provided by FNU in allowing her to progress in her learning through the short courses provided.
“One opportunity used wisely can change your life for the better, and I am glad that FNU has given me this opportunity,” she shared.
“This course has enhanced my skills and knowledge and whenever I am ready to pursue additional courses, I can return to FNU to help me achieve my academic and career goal.”
“FNU offers a programme for everyone at various entry levels and pathways.”
