Tickets are now available for the much-awaited College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (CAFF)’s 70th Platinum Anniversary.
This is a milestone celebration marking decades of growth and achievements since the then Fiji College of Agriculture now CAFF founding in 1954.
Set to take place on December 6 and 7, CAFF Dean Dr Kaliova Ravuiwasa says the two-day event promises a blend of nostalgia, connection, and forward-looking initiatives for CAFF alumni and supporters.
The two-day platinum celebration will begin on Friday with a parade from CAFF’s instructional complex, then known as the crop farm, to its main campus.
Alumni from different graduating decades will dress in decade-specific colors, uniting generations of graduates. The festivities include a day filled with live bands, networking opportunities, and closed tent meetings, where each decade’s alumni can discuss future projects and ways to give back to the college.
On the second day, there will be an elegant gala dinner at the new FNU gymnasium in Nasinu where attendees would enjoy an evening of formal wear, fine dining, and entertainment.
A total of 500 gala dinner tickets are now available at $100 each, with proceeds dedicated to the event and upcoming projects that will benefit both alumni and current students.
Dr Ravuiwasa said they aim to also use the proceeds to support legacy projects for the college, such as a signature building or facility, a coffee bistro or studio for shared use by students and alumni.
In addition to celebrating its past, CAFF looks toward the future, with plans for new initiatives that will leave a lasting legacy.
“The 70th Anniversary is not just a look back but also a vision forward,” Dr Ravuiwasa said. The FCA/ CAFF Alumni president, Dr Poasa Tabuaciri has called on Alumni to purchase a ticket and not miss this historic celebration.
With tickets now on sale, CAFF’s 70th Platinum Anniversary celebration is set to be one of the most memorable events in its history, bringing together alumni and friends to honor the college’s achievements and chart a path forward.
